Results of October 2009 meeting - Thank you Sue!

In Attendance: Bibiana Christman, Terry Stone, Nellie Travis, Sue Baker, Gretchen Patterson, Bob Happ, Julie and Sienna Rodgers

Discussed Pros and Cons of 2009 Art Show:
Not enough room at Post Office site
Some commented that they liked it there (colored walls, coziness, lighting)
Gym may be available next year
Lighting not good there, better at PO
Possibly change lights
Updated status information on Borough takeover of Chiniak School building.

New Business:

Talked about going under umbrella of Kodiak Arts Council so we could get nonprofit status and be able to get a business license to open up a bank account under CAW.
In order to do that we write up proposition and have a president and treasurer elect.
Becky Applebee will be President
Gretchen Patterson will be Vice President
Sue Baker will be Treasurer
Vice President will be responsible for c0-signing checks with Treasurer (checks & balances)
Approved by members present
Gretchen and Sue will pursue contacting the Arts Council

Discussed how we should spend our money:

Artists Workshops
Art Supplies
Bazzaar Fees

Talked generally about staying casual in all our activities and having fun at meetings with craft projects and our next meeting will be on Halloween and we are having a party,yey!

Next Meeting: October 31st, bring supplies to make halloween art, dress up if you desire
We will meet at PO at 12 noon to 2pm, have handouts to inform community about our group as they come in to check their mail. Treats will be available.


December 7th Meeting will be a Sue Baker's house to make Christmas Orniments to sell at PO and donate % to CAW.(to be discussed at next meeting.

January we will solicit old photos from community to hang in PO. Sue will bring scanner to scan photos for permanent display at library.
